Born and brought up in a remote farming community that was coverd by heavily wooded forest and widely arable farming land. The particular small village we lived in was located in Northern Gondar, Northern Ethiopia. It was here that I acquired, not only farming and livestock herding familiarity and skills, but also I followed my religious theology schooling and social upbringing maintaining closely intertwined relationships between Mother Nature and the impacts of human activities on the surrounding flora and fauna of our environment.
Obtained my BA, M.Sc.and PhD degrees from the well-known Uppsala University in Sweden. Plus, 2- diplomas and 8-certificates by studying other skills oriented subjects in different parts of Sweden such as the Swedish Universities of Agricultural Sciences as well University of Turku in Finland.
Wrote and published 6-books and 20-articles pertinent to key subjects areas including, but not limited to, environmental concerns, agriculture, land-use, food and nutrition security, soil-conservation, human resettlement schemes, ethno-botany, rural-urban-development, as well as impacts of flooding and water-borne diseases.
Appointed: as an Associate Professor by the Uppsala University, Sweden; as a Guest Professor by the Michigan State University, USA; as a Guest Professor by the Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and as one of the Members of the Jury by the Addis Ababa Chamber of Comerce:
I was given the honor of being requested by by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences as one of the members of the grading committee for the defense of a PhD Thesis on Environment and Forest and to evaluate/examine a Doctoral Thesis on Risk Management.
Served as a Board Members of the Green Party in Sweden and as a member of the Civil Society Network on Climate Change in Ethiopia.
Established and led a none-government and none-profit organization in Addis Ababa known as Biodifood Association. We provided practical training to poor women and youth groups on urban agriculture, environment, food and nutrition security at our training site located in Addis Ababa.
Established and led consultancy firms called Afro-Scandinavian Services (ASS) in Sweden, Wanza International Consulting (WIC) in Addis Ababa and a large commercial farm in Dasenech District in the Omo Valley in Ethiopia.
Contributed consulatancy work for 21 organisations in the past 20-years. Among others, environment & social Iimpact assessment (ESIA); environmental auditing; training on climate change, mitigation and adaptation; application of bioMist on sanitary landfill leachate to control bad odor; studies on soap factory and commercial, farm; evaluation of energy efficient cook stove project; textile garment trade & industry ; road signs and road painting manufacturing factory; surveyed nine regions & wrote a report on land administration; project proposal and evaluation; urban development, study on feed mill production pesticides and agro-chemicals studies; and reviewed the national road map as it befits for Integrated land use planning.
Served as a Vice-Chairman of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church located in Stockholm, Sweden and member of 9-professional-organisations,
